This thread is for listing the differences between the canonical Marvel Universe of the comics (commonly referred to as MU-616), and the universe of Avengers: EMH!

The first and most obvious - to me - difference is that JARVIS, Tony's AI, is... well, an AI, and not the more traditional butler of the Avenger's Mansion.

Hawkeye as a SHIELD agent prior to Avengers membership is new...or borrowed from Ultimate continuity.

I believe I read somewhere that the use of Hydra instead of the Nazis in the WWII scenes for Cap are mainly because of the inability to market the cartoon in Germany if it has Nazi imagery.

I would have preferred that they stayed as close to the original stories as possible, but I can live with the changes as long as the stories are good.

I'm still holding out hope that Jarvis is not an AI but actually communicating with Tony from the Mansion.

It's too bad that the choice to use what is essentially the Movie Iron Man has seemingly precluded the use of the Real Jarvis.

Maybe Yost and Company can find a way to make it work.

Another difference I can think of might be too obvious to be worth mentioning, but I'll do it anyway:

The whole origin of the team. Gone is the Lee/Kirby story, but I'm not sure I needed to see Hulk dressed as a clown, pretending to be a robot, juggling elephants. Also gone is Rick Jones, the Teen Brigade and Loki.

We get something closer to an Ultimates/Bendis mashup, but the important thing is that's done right with an obvious love for the MU and a proper sense of what the Avengers should be.

Nick Fury is the son of Jake Fury, who was the Sgt. Fury of the Howling Commandos.

Wonder Man is quite different:

* Wonder Man was created by A.I.M., not Baron Zemo.
* Wonder Man was created in his Busiek-era ionic form, not his first, more human, form.

Ultron seems to be a co-creation of Stark And Pym.
